Introduction to Maryland Online

Launched in 1999, MarylandOnline (MOL) is one of the country’s most longstanding state online education consortia. With 19 member colleges and universities, MOL is a future-focused consortium of Maryland higher education institutions that serve its members through expertise, networking, and advocacy, drawing on the strengths of its member institutions to advance excellence in online education and fuel student success.

Introduction to the MarylandOnline Leadership Institute

Launched in 2016, the MarylandOnline Leadership Institute (MOLLI) is the leadership development component of MOL. It supports experienced and aspiring leaders in online education at all career stages through a variety of online and in-person events throughout the year. It provides the foundational skills for those who wish to enhance their leadership skills and grow their professional network. With a sharp focus on professional development in online education leadership, MOLLI enhances the competencies of higher education leaders who support or advance online learning.

The goals of MOLLI are to:

• Build a community of practice for online learning professionals;
• Develop the leadership skills of participants;
• Create awareness of the issues facing online education leaders and practitioners across the U.S.; and
• Foster collaborative learning through inspiration, reflection, and real-world practice.
