Dr. Wendy Gilbert
Executive Director, MOL
Wendy Gilbert has been with MarylandOnline since 2003 and is currently serving as Executive Director. Dr. Gilbert oversees the Maryland Pathways Portal project, the Seat Bank, CPEX, DOLLI, and MOL-X programs. She serves on the WCET System & Consortia Leaders Group, the Digital Credentialing Community of Practice, Maryland Distance Learning Association (MDLA) planning committee, and the Maryland Open Source Textbook (M.O.S.T.) advisory committee. Wendy holds a B.A. in International Relations from Virginia Tech, an M.S. in International Affairs from Florida State University, and a Ph.D. in Higher Education and General Administration, also from Florida State University.
Dr. Julie Porosky Hamlin
Director, MOL
Since 2001, Julie Porosky Hamlin has served as director and executive director of MarylandOnline, a consortium of 19 colleges and universities that collaborate in online education. Previously, Hamlin was senior vice president of University of Maryland University College (now University of Maryland Global Campus), where she held various prior administrative positions as well. Hamlin’s career in higher education includes appointment to a number of boards and commissions; multiple awards, recognitions, publications, and presentations, many focused on quality assurance in higher and online education; service as an evaluator on several institutional accreditation and U.S. government teams; and adjunct faculty appointments, both graduate and undergraduate. Her professional interests and achievements are in the fields of online education, non-traditional and military students, and quality assurance. Hamlin holds a Ph.D. in higher education policy from University of Maryland College Park and a B.A. and M.A. in English from The University of Arizona.
