• Apply SIM when choosing the correct lane, lane position and speed control option in preparation for negotiating intersections

Lesson 2: Rear Space Control

• Apply SIM to control the rear space
• Use their mirrors to monitor their rear space
• Describe how controlling the front space condition and the rear space are related

Lesson 3: Stopping in Traffic

• Apply SIM when stopping in traffic

Lesson 4: Managing Space with Timing

• Determine the best speed control to arrive at open spaces
• Demonstrate the ability to manage the point of no return as it relates to traffic signals
• Determine the best speed control to manage space to the side of the vehicle

Lesson 5: Precision Lane Changes

• Recognize the need for a lane change
• Explain the sequence of procedures when performing a lane change
• Apply SIM before, during, and after changing lanes
