By the end of this chapter, the parent and learner will be able to do the following:

Lesson 1: Parent/Student Orientation (1 Hour Lesson)

• Understand the rules for the driver education program and be introduced to what an ODOT-approved driver education course includes
• Describe some of the risks associated with novice drivers.
• Understand the expectations, requirements, roles and their responsibilities for a course completion.
• Recognize and demonstrate proper hand positions, steering techniques, seating position, reference points, and mirror adjustments.
