Risks in the HTS- Discuss how emotions affect our driving
Ask students to fill out the Identifying Risks Activity table on the impact of emotions.  Discuss results
Have students break into groups (if possible) and have them discuss environmental factors that may impact risk on the HTS and have the students fill out in the space provided in the workbook.

  • Inclement weather, fog, precipitation, traffic control device, potholes
Have students break into groups (if possible) and have them discuss how a vehicle’s condition can contribute to risk on the HTS and have the students fill out in the space provided in the workbook.

  • Poor headlights, brakes, shaking steering wheel, under or over-inflated tires
Developing Risk Management Driving Habits
Ask students to answer the Essential Questions in the space provided and conduct a group discussion on each.
